236 Don’t Bother Reading This

If you are expecting a ‘special’ blog post or one of my more normal ‘trauma’ posts, you will be disappointed.

Nothing of significance happened this week. Of course there were developments in the Middle East and in the race for the Tory party leadership, but these mean nothing to me. (Ooohhh, Vienna)  I doubt if either will have much impact on my life.

You will know from past blog posts that I crave weeks without trauma or major incident. Yet when I experience one, as in this week, there seems something lacking.  It’s as if major incidents make you feel more ‘alive’, more connected to the rest of the world.

I don’t suppose you can place an order for major, pleasurable incidents only.  You have to take the rough with the smooth.  We dogs are totally reliant on our human owners.  We are not directors of our own lives.

Human beans, however, have the opportunity and often the means to shape their future and create their own pleasurable experiences.  They should never be complaining about lack of incident or boredom.  The solution is in their own hands.

(I never thought I would envy human beans but I do over this degree of self-determination.)
