03: In Sickness and In Health

This morning I was sick. Not ill or poorly - I just vomited. I’m not sure why (I’m not a vet) but it wasn’t very pleasant.

What made it worse though was the reaction of my human beans.

TOWTSH was OK.  He was concerned for my welfare and fussed round making what he presumably thought were comforting noises.  Of course I just wanted to be left alone so I could lick up the mess.

TOWTLH was quite different.  She just seemed to be concerned about her pet - not me I hasten to add, but her ‘car-pet’.  She brought in cloths, jars and bottles and shouted ‘Vanish!’.  Luckily this turned out not to be an instruction but a cleaning product which she sprayed liberally over the area of carpet that I had covered.

This seemed to me to be a big mistake. The spray covered the carpet in white foam, making it look much more messy than I had done.

So, what did she do?

Nothing. She left it like that. The foam soaked into the carpet and then she got out the ‘push noise’ (it actually has a much more technical name like ‘Vack Yoom Cleaner” but she pushes it around the house while it makes a noise so I think my name is much more appropriate - and certainly more accurate.

With the carpet looking better (I have to admit) - if a little strange-smelling, all seemed to be well. I thought of being sick again to watch the ritual being repeated but it was nearly lunchtime, so I just went to sleep.
