04: Strange Humans

My human beans are quite strange.

For some reason they expect me to chase balls and bring them back (FETCH is what they call it) but we pure-bred field spaniels don ’t do that kind of thing. (This one doesn’t anyway.)

I’ve seen other dogs doing it in the park but it seems so pointless. They (the human beans) throw the ball, I chase it, take it back to them and they throw it again.  This goes on until I refuse to chase it (and the humans have to go and get it) or they get fed up.  If I start by refusing to chase after the first throw, it saves a lot of time and energy. They sometimes get angry or disappointed but surely the game is for my benefit, not theirs.
