13: Bonus Episode

I normally only post a blog once each week but there is so much to tell that I couldn’t wait.

I’ve been back to the vets to check on my conjunctivitis and ear infection. TOWTSH took me and talked to the vet. He mentioned that I have been more reluctant to walk recently and that I have been licking the wound from my operation rather a lot. (He’s a real snitch, that one!)

The vet had a tulip bulb (or should that be light bulb) moment and suggested all these things could be linked as part of an underlying thyroid problem.  She (for the vet was female, as so many of them are) suggested a blood test to ‘rule it out’. TOWTSH said “YES” before he found out it cost £170 (for a blood test ... what would  a transfusion cost?!).

So, they stuck a needle in my leg and extracted some of my precious blood.  (I’d already had something stuck up my backside to check my temperature ... which was ‘normal’.)

To cut a long (shaggy dog?) story short :

I will get the results of the blood test next week.

I appear to have some skin condition which requires me to be shampooed three times before I go back to the vet so next week) This is my opportunity to get my revenge on the snitch. If I am uncooperative, I am very hard to bathe.)

I still have to have drops in my eyes (very uncomfortable, that is) three times a day

Of course, it could be worse ... and may get worse yet.

Sorry if this is less humorous than I would like (and hopefully it normally is) but I have been traumatised, humiliated, embarrassed, messed with and punctured. It’s a dog’s life. I will keep you updated as the drama unfolds.

Is it dinner time?
