20: Human Pups
I saw Baby Ralph yesterday. He is the newest inhabitant of our street.
He was a litter of 1 - human beans are not very productive birthers, are they?
He looks like all human pups - a slightly strange colour and sort of wrinkled. His parents, like all human parents, are very proud but nervous of the responsibility of looking after such a helpless individual with a very limited set of communication protocols.
They will, of course, learn ‘on the job’ making a number of mistakes as they do so. Ralph will ride those mistakes and will survive and thrive - human pups are actually - and surprisingly - quite resilient.
For now, Chris and Sarah (sire and dam) have to sort out the paperwork (registration and pedigree certificate) and then just deal with Ralph’s ends - making sure stuff goes in one end and that it comes out the other.
I welcome Ralph to our community and look forward to ignoring him as he grows up - as I ignore most other humans.
Is he too young to eat (or preferably drop) rusks?
