260: I’m Confused

I overheard my beans this morning talking about future appointments at…. (spooky music plays)… the vet.

I know listening in on people’s conversations is impolite - and I know that sometimes I get ‘the wrong end of the stick’ but I was a little worried by what I heard.

(As an aside first, however, does anyone know what the right end of the stick is?   And how to select it?)

My worry about the beans’ conversation was when I overhead John tell Jacky that I (Gina, not John) have to be starving for one of the appointments.

When reflecting later and trying to make sense of John’s statement, I rationalised it by remembering that I’m always starving so this should not be a problem.

Upon further reflection I became worried that John ‘mis-spoke’ (all the best people do it nowadays) and he meant to say ‘fasting’ which is far more serious.

(Another aside: I’m better at ‘slowing’ than ‘fasting’.)

This post seems to have been broken into lots of small paragraphs.  I did think of going back and reconstructing it … but I can’t be bothered.   Life is too short … especially for dogs!
