261: Smaller Trees

Today (as I write this on a Saturday), there are trees everywhere - on the lawn, on the patio, on the drive … you get  the picture.  The reason, you will not be surprised to hear,  is that my beans have decided to trim the trees at the back of the garden.

(Did I mention this last week?  I can't remember.  My memory is not what it was.  I think it might just be plain and simple age-related memory loss.  After all, I am 10 years old in a couple of weeks - birthday carrots,  bananas and treats gladly received)

Watching the tree-men from the patio window was both fascinating nd slightly scary. At any one time, one of them  was at or near the top of a tree with a chainsaw while the other was taking away what man number one had already trimmed.

They also had a machine which 'chipped' the chopped branches into tiny pieces that could be carried away more easily.

It all seemed very skilful to me (though my knowledge of tree surgery is quite limited).

( I can just hear John Hornby saying my knowledge of most things is quite limited.)

Over the day, it did keep me awake, but it was better than watching TV.

I'm going to miss the show next week.

I think it was particularly good for me because the tree-men were obviously half-dog, judging by the number of biscuits they ate.  I didn’t get any because I wasn't working.

What interest and excitement will next week bring?
