53: Inspector Morse
Many of your will be surprised that this blog post (from a dog) has a title taken from a character in a much-loved, but quite dated television show.
I should really apologise because the title is a bit of conceit on my part - giving me a chance to show off my extensive knowledge and (perhaps more importantly) my ability to make connections across different fields of knowledge.
Let me explain.
The beans with whom I live were talking recently about the change in the weather. the temperature moved from -5 (yes, minus 5 degrees) to 5 (yes, plus 5 degrees) overnight. There beans were talking about ‘the great thaw’ and I overhead this as ‘The Great Thaw’. As you know Inspector Morse was played by the great actor, John Thaw - hence the title of this blog post.
The change in temperature is certainly welcome. We had several days of sub-zero temperatures and walking in the park was not exactly a pleasant experience. - especially for TOWTSH who does not have the benefits of four legs (giving extra stability) or a thick coat like my fur. Even with that coat, I could feel the bitter cold.
The only problem with the change is that there is a strong tendency to move from cold and dry to warmer and wetter. This means mud - something I can do without.
At least the very early signs of spring are here.
Thank you, Inspector Morse.
